Farewell Scrapsmacktoo!

Scrapsmacktoo has gone invite only. Sometime this afternoon Guess made it private, so it is no more unless she invites you-which seeing that everyone posted anonymously probably isn't possible. I'm not really surprised. The hate and monkey troll thing took their toll. Sad, at one time there were interesting conversations and good info there. Farewell!

  1. Good riddance. Apparently, very few people, if any, are left at failed Scrapsmack because the blog was abandoned by visitors several days ago.

    1. Oh, great. You're back.

I hope admin blogs you because you are one of the people (if not the only person with your multiple personalities) who poisoned the last blog.

Your love to bloviate about the "reputable boards" and the "failed" blogs, and yet you seem to spend an inordinate amount of time in the "toilet" rather than at your reputable boards.

      Please go away.

Or admin, please block her or she will poison this blog with her ugly, repetitive statements.

  2. I've been at all the Scrap Smack type places for years and I enjoyed the industry gossip and honest product reviews. It's too bad that it devolved into people cussing each other out and the stupid monkey stuff.

  3. I'm surprised Guess put up with it for as long as she did, especially with all the trashing that one person did of her. For a long time it was a useful site but there hadn't been anything productive on there for a long long time.

  4. Pebbles announced their new design team, most of them are already on multiple company teams. Same old same old

    ReplyDelete
  5. People begged Guess to ban the trolls, but she wouldn't even acknowledge their complaints. She self-destructed.

    ReplyDelete
  6. The invite only blog is no surprise. Trolls claimed ownership of it weeks before the formal announcement was made yesterday. One of them posts comments here. Same hateful complaint against an unknown person every time.

    1. Unknown person? Please. Your tired writing style is so obvious. You are Ms. "reputable scrapboards," "Guess' reputation is mud," "scrap blogs are toilets," etc.

You. Are. Not. Wanted. Or. Welcome. Here.

I hope admin blocks you before you ruin this blog like you ruined the other.

  8. 2:15 trolls trashed the other blog with their monkey filth. Not 12:18. Scrapsmack was going well until the freaks arrived last March and began spamming it with their dirt.

They plainly stated that their intention was to shut down scrapping-related convos because they didn't care about the hobby.

If you are a spokesperson for this blog, it will also go down the tubes.

We all recognize your endless, self serving drivel from the other blog. you and your alters ruined the other blog. I hope admin band your IP, but not before she tells us the location of your IP address. At this point, I think the only way you will go away is if you are publicly outed. I am so sick of you, and I'm sure everyone else is, too.

  11. For the person writing earlier in the last post about 3-D houses, here's something that's going to be available in September.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_z4wBR8Bko

Also, some demos think you can take the Stampin Up popcorn boxes and make houses out of them so you might look at other boxes and see what you can do.

  12. Anybody have a WRMK album with the gold foil dots? The strawberry one with the white cover and cold dots is on sale at Joanns.com plus I have a code for free delivery. Just about ready to pull the trigger but was curious if anybody has seen on in person. Thanks

  13. I'm curious why Teresa Collins' blog stopped in May. She's active on other sites so maybe she is abandoning the blog/website. But it's also possible that business is really bad. She said earlier in the blog that she would have stuff for sale at Ross', TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Home Goods, but I've never seen any of it there. I have seen things similar to hers, gone over and looked but it was some other company. Without starting a flame war on her personal life, what's up with the company?

    1. not sure....but it seems no new releases for a while. Although states new releases available at Joann's...they are basically old releases with maybe something revamped in the line. She has an event coming up in September as well....hope she has something new to offer those attending classes with her

    2. TCW really is rich and she doesn't have to do humdrum paper and glue stuff any more. Only what little she feels like doing to stay in touch with her fans. Her kids are grown, giving her more time for herself.

She made a very good living on her own, her late husband left her well heeled and her current husband is a Partner-attorney in a major Salt Lake City law firm. As such, he can write his own ticket.

      Good for them.

      Delete
  14. I agree. But I think if I was attending an event with TC in the name and the big headliner with two classes with her...that I would want to create a project with new product and not something that was pulled out of the warehouse or garage because it hasn't been used yet.

  17. Saw Maggie Holmes' new collection ("Gather"). It's like EXACTLY the same visuals with just different colors. Oh, and a weird bear and unicorn. Very disappointing.

    1. I think this mod is actively removing personal attacks. There is a difference between posting something personal and ugly (so and so is a bad person) and posting about their product (so and so's rub ons are the worst).

I think most of us appreciate that.

It's a legitimate question. It's insulting to attendees to keep dragging the same old stock out of her garage or wherever. But she's rich so that makes everything ok I guess. Not following the logic.

Thankfully, that blog is dead. No one in their right mind will go there. Since no one sees their lies, smut and insanity any more, the trolls are out of business.

  27. If a vintage typeface is all you want, just use one of the 'Courier' fonts in your word processor. If you don't have any, they can be downloaded from free font sites that also have distressed styles.

  29. The typewriter is cool but... 199.00!!!!! Geez ...My problem would be after 3 years when it tanks, WRMK will stop making the ink tape!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm not sure it will tank. WRMK are known for their "tools", so this may have staying power like the corner chomper, etc. To be honest, I'm surprised someone else hasn't come out with one sooner.

I have an old electric typewriter, but it can be limiting when it comes to how wide the margin will let me go. Also, for the computer font thing? I could do that, but honestly, it's way more work to do that than to pop in a favourite piece of paper, or tiny scrap, (or even a photo) and type on it right away. Don't have to do all that re-sizing, pre-printing junk, so I'd rather have a typewriter.

    1. My girls have been brought up with every type of gadget, tablet,i phone, i pad etc and for her birthday my 8 year old wants a typewriter. I have explained MS Word and we have done that but NO, she wants to hit the key, see the letter come up etc ...I would be tempted to get her one if it was going to be around for a few years.

      Delete
  31. 7:04 is absolutely right.

In 3 years, if that long, you'll end up with a $199 plastic doorstop. Font software in current word processors does amazing work and it's slam-dunk easy to use. Sounds like you need to catch up with it.

All of the dedicated typewriter manufacturers tanked ages ago. If you bought WRMK's toy typewriter, you'd be stuck with an unresponsive AC-owned company that won't even produce decent scrapbooks any more.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Keep in mind the Cinch tool. It's hard to find the wire bindings unless you go on-line. If it's a flop they won't support it. I also agree with the right fonts you can create the same look!!! And if you really want a typewriter that is reliable ..here is one that is cheaper..https://www.amazon.com/Royal-Epoch-Portable-Manual-Typewriter/dp/B00FK540SI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1471382439&sr=8-2&keywords=typewriter

  36. Looking through the gallery at Scrapbook . com is more frustrating than inspirint for me. It seems like most of the layouts are terribly done product vomit. It takes a good eye to make tons of product on one page look good, and most of us don't have it. My style, if you want to call it that, is a lot more minimalist. I can't wait for scrapping to move away from the current junked up trend.

    2. There needs to be a happy medium in between PL and the one photo too many embellishments layouts.

      Delete
    3. Agreed. I don't do PL, mainly because I like paper and glue so much but product vomit all over a 12x12 page doesn't appeal to me either.... I love Creative Scrapbooker magazine. They show a good balance of stuff. I especially like the pages that show how to incorporate coloring into your scrapbooking pages. I hope the magazine stays around for awhile.

      Delete
    4. I agree. I went to the gallery a few times to get inspiration and it's obvious that most people are doing the same thing, that shabby chic, 200 flowers and some lace dumped on the page. I would look at some of the scrappers galleries and that's all they have - hundreds of pages that look exactly the same. That's not real creativity at all. The few people who are actually creative get hardly any votes at all because people are mindless sheep.

  58. Wasn't Noell not being sponsored anymore by the industry to go to CHA or show product? Guarantee that's why she is closing it down. No more $$$ involved....

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. She was offering a service that wasn't available before. With so many YouTubers providing content for free, I think it caused a decline in their membership. Sure the video quality was better with Paperclipping, but that doesn't really matter when you are looking for inspiration. I also think as she decreased the amount of podcasts being done, it took her out of the scrapbooking spotlight and things just kinda fell by the wayside.

      Delete
    2. Donna J. (9/21 at 6:04 a.m.) is right. CHA went all-pro this year with hundreds of excellent videos done by scrapbook.com and a Canadian company whose name escapes me. The difference in production values was phenomenal. No more fuzzy videos, Noell babbling with her few personal favorites and dressing like she just fell out of bed.

For over a year, I said that boring PRT was going down the tubes and got smacked for it every time. Noell couldn't attract any intetesting guests. Sadly, PRT became nothing but a content-free gigglefest with Noell and her predictable bff's. Her mean girl reputation and loudmouth husband didn't do her any good either. Neither did defection of her sole sponsor, Stacy Julian, to SC in 2015.

Unfortunately, two-faced Tracie has a large following of mindless fans who could make her the next podcast celebrity if big names don't replace Noell soon. Michaels sponsors her, so she'd have a head start if she moved to a monetized platform like YouTube. All that's limiting her exposure now is that lousy free software she uses. It's balky on mobile phones.

      Delete
  59. Have you listened/read their explanation? It's a total lifestyle change Noell needs to make for her health. I also think she's found a new passion in yoga. She may not abandon scrapbooking entirely, but I imagine it will decrease a lot for physical reasons.

It's weird. They've been a staple for so long and they'll just be totally done in less than a year.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Becky Higgins is either reading the posts about her or somebody is reporting back to her because lately she has made some posts about social media and surrounding yourself with supportive people. She has pushed creating scrapbooks of some kind for years now she says she may scan those scrapbooks and toss them. WTF?

    ReplyDelete
  61. Becky Higgins and Lisa Bearnson will both shill anything for money. Their act is they are moms "just like you" and let you think you know them personally which draws in their groupies to buy, buy, buy.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Public contradiction of yourself, inconsistency or complete turn-around, hurts your reputation. Even if you're promoting a good product. So if I advertise a toothpaste that helps you keep your teeth and gums healthy, I shouldn't advertise the value of extraction and implants -because the second suggests the first doesn't work. So Higgins should not have promoted digital memory keeping at the expense of material scrapbooks when she's selling those products too. The contradiction undercuts her credibility, not advocacy for the digital product. She looks like a liar.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Well said. She is really pushing the PL App, at this point it seems like she has little interest in the regular physical PL product yet they keep coming out with new kits all the time.

  63. I follow another scrapbook company that is family owned and though they show pictures of their kids I couldn't tell you any of their names and while you can tell they are family oriented they keep it on a professional level (so it is possible). 67. 10:16 those Peachy Keen stamps look weird to me too and they're very expensive. They don't work on every doll style, especially mod ones like Julie Nutting's.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I am so so about Noell passing Tracie the torch. The fact that Tracie isn't among "The professionals" bugs me a little. She is all about "the little people" and I want to here more from the supertalented scrappers, not the regular scrapper...

    ReplyDelete
  69. Tracie has always wanted to be with the "in crowd" in scrapbooking and is desperate to make a career out of it. She is so fake and really exposed herself as a two face with her posting about the Refugee site and the BH thread.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Like Tracie, Noell desperately wanted to be one of the In Crowd, but she never made it. She sucked up to all of the mean girl celebs while trying to hit the big time, but all that did was ruin her reputation.

I agree with whoever said Noell wouldn't have left the industry if CHA hadn't dumped her. Their winter show is moving to Phoenix in January 2017 and that's literally in her backyard. Look for other AZ residents Tim Holtz, Becky Higgins, Maggie Holmes and that dizzy dude with the blond-streaked black hair to be there with bells on.

Nancy Nally said TCW and Heidi Swapp are moving into "different directions", but she didn't say what they are. Does that mean they're leaving scrapping and paper crafting? It certainly seems that way with TCW.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Heidi is definitely pursuing the decorator arts, aka crap for the house route.

  73. Has there been any feedback on TCW's Las Vegas event from last month? Haven't seen any and am very curious. I went for years but after 2015 and 2015 I couldn't waste the money anymore. Wondering if I missed out

  74. Haven't heard or seen a peep. But the teachers lineup wasn't that impressive. I did hear that TCW's one class was to make 5 banners...yes 5 banners in a 3 hour class. The lineup for next year doesn't look much better. There is another event now called Ready Set Create and also one with Bella Blvd that is this upcomng weekend.....

  75. huh thanks for responding 9:00 am. I wonder what kind of banners they were?? That could be fun but I would rather make one really nice banner than 5 cheap ones. Her classes were seriously lacking the past few years and that was a big reason I stopped going.

    1. They're still online. It's probably your browser. For me, they showed up on Google, but not on Chrome.

  79. If you want to know which crafters are perfect bitches in real life I'll tell you! They are the ones who pretend to be all sugary sweet. My Pink Stamper, Robyn Cardon is the worst, followed closely by Gina K. Not nice girls at all. I know from personal experience. They have everyone snowed and are raking in the big bucks at the same time.
